How to Set and Accomplish Goals!

How should I set my goals?

Failing to accomplish a goal is sometimes due to the way it was set. But a few psychological tricks can help set and reach those goals. One is to ensure that the goal is attached to a value, such as the value of supporting your local community or fighting climate change. Another is to frame your goal as an asset to be gained rather than a threat to be avoided. For example, instead of thinking, “I shouldn’t bother my boss, so we can avoid a rocky relationship,” try thinking, “I want to learn new communication skills to reset our relationship.” Yet another idea is to try setting a learning goal instead of a performance goal; instead of deciding to lose 20 pounds, decide to learn more about nutrition and cook two healthy recipes each week.

How do I build momentum?

Motivation targets the “why” of change, but momentum targets the “how.” Generating momentum is pivotal for taking the concrete steps needed to shift out of entrenched patterns and make change. Focusing on momentum can also be used in a therapeutic context. For example, a therapist might address a pattern of avoidance in a patient with depression by identifying small steps they have already taken (getting out of bed that morning, coming to therapy) and then listing the next steps they can take next. Recognizing the motivation for change and focusing on the dynamics that support change can also help build momentum.

How to Increase Motivation

Some people may find themselves completely stymied by a project; others may simply want to pack a little more productivity into their timeline. No matter where motivation begins, there are always ways to increase it—whether that be your own motivation or someone else’s.

How can I feel more motivated?

Sometimes you might feel completely unmotivated—and that’s ok. In that situation, allow yourself to feel the discomfort, hear the negative self-talk, and then take action anyway, For example, let’s say you come home after a long day at work and just want to unwind and watch TV. Instead of turning the TV on, acknowledge that you’re tired and then challenge yourself to read five pages of the book on your nightstand first. This approach gives space for negative thoughts and feelings, while helping you change ingrained patterns.

Diet, Exercise, and Finance Goals

Some of the most common goals people make—and the most common goals they struggle to meet—are to eat healthier, work out more, and save more money. Many traps can prevent people from achieving those goals, but anticipating those challenges can help achieve real change.

How can I stick to my diet?

Many people struggle to stick to a diet. Research suggests that extrinsic motivators—to avoid hurtful comments or fit into an outfit—can jumpstart the process but that intrinsic motivation—interest, enjoyment, and challenge in the journey—is key to sustained, lasting weight loss. Intrinsic motivation encompasses competence, autonomy, and relatedness, so it’s helpful to 1) choose a diet that will be sustainable and effective 2) believe that the diet, start date, and end goals have been chosen autonomously and not “assigned” by others 3) find a community of supporters.

HOW TO BE A PERFECT PERSON ? !!

We’ve all made mistakes throughout our lives that haven’t exactly put us in the best light–like bullying someone in school or telling what seemed like a little white lie. Chances are, however, you probably felt a little guilt and grew because of the situation.

I’m an average guy trying to become better in both my work and home life. I’ll never be perfect, but it doesn’t mean I won’t try.

A PERSON CAN NEVER BE PERFECT BUT WHY CAN’T HE TRY ?

There are Over a 7 and half Billion people in the world, everybody is different, they have different think, different mindset and lifestyle or environment.

There are thousands of people who suicide every year due to depression, like work load or money problems, Do you think you are different? well as i said everybody have his own way of thinking.

SO HOW CAN I CHANGE MYSELF ?

There are numerous ways by which you can change yourself, your personality, the way you thing and wise versa, i am writing down some of the ways to change yourself, and be the best of yourself. !!

1. Compliment Yourself

Your journey to becoming a better person starts with understanding who you are at your core.

2. Don’t Make Excuses

Blaming your spouse, boss, or clients is fruitless and won’t get you very far. Instead of pointing fingers and making excuses about why you aren’t happy or successful in your personal or professional life, own your mistakes and learn from them.

3. Let Go of Anger

letting go of anger is easier said than done. While anger is a perfectly normal emotion, you can’t let it fester.

4. Practice Forgiveness

oyce Marter, LCPC, suggests you forgive and let go of resentment. She notes, “If for no other reason than for yourself, forgive to untether yourself from the negative experiences of the past.

5. Be Honest and Direct

How would you feel if a loved one or business partner lied to you? Chances are you would see that as a violation of your trust.

6. Be Helpful

Whether giving up your seat to an elderly person on the subway, assisting a co-worker on a project, or carrying in the groceries when your spouse comes back from the store, being helpful is one of the easiest and most effective ways to practice becoming a better person.

7. Listen to Others

As Jeet Banerjee notes on Lifehack, “listening to people and giving everyone a voice is one of the greatest things you can do.”

8. Act Locally

It may not seem like a big deal, but supporting a local cause, donating clothes, or buying from local farmers’ markets or businesses are simple ways you can help your specific region.

9. Always Be Polite

How much effort does it take to say, “Thank you,” or to hold the elevator door open for someone? Not much at all. However, these acts of kindness can make someone’s day.

10. Be Yourself

Tiffany Mason has five excellent reasons on Lifehack why you should be yourself. These include being able to align yourself with your values and beliefs, establish your identity, build courage, create boundaries, and find focus and direction.

11. Be Open to Change

Whether trying a new restaurant, traveling to an unknown part of the world, or doing something that has always scared you, you should always be open to change.

12. Be Respectful

How would you feel if you had just cleaned your home and someone came in and tracked mud everywhere? You’d probably be a little ticked that they hadn’t taken off their shoes. Take this mentality and apply it to everyday life.

13. Educate Yourself

If you don’t understand why one country is invading another, take the time to educate yourself on the current event. Ask a person intimately connected with the event for his or her thoughts. Remember, we’re all interconnected, and being aware of different cultures, different people,

14. Be part of a community.

BE SOMETHING YOU WANT TO BE OTHER THEN YOU DON’T WANT !

These were some major point that i think can make you an happy, able, a good human being, i can’t say Perfect? but yeah it will be better then what you are today.

UNSUCCESSFUL IN LIFE / THINKING OF GIVING UP ? READ THIS !

Bill Gates is an American business magnate, investor, author, philanthropist, and humanitarian. He is best known as the principal founder of Microsoft Corporation.

Gates was born in SeattleWashington, on October 28, 1955.[3] He is the son of William H. Gates Sr.[c] (1925–2020) and Mary Maxwell Gates (1929–1994).[21] His ancestry includes English, German, and Irish/Scots-Irish.

Early in his life, Gates observed that his parents wanted him to pursue a law career.

Gates was small for his age and was bullied as a child.

BILL GATES WAS THE RICHEST MAN OF HIS TIME !!

Since 1987, he has been included in the Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest people. From 1995 to 2017, he held the Forbes title of the richest person in the world all but four of those years

HE ALSO HELPS THE POOR CHILDREN ALL AROUND THE WORLD !!

“We said to ourselves this can’t be true, but if it is true it deserves to be the priority of our giving.

So we began our work in the same way anyone here would begin it. We asked: how could the world let these children die?

The answer is simple and harsh. The market did not reward saving the lives of these children and governments did not subsidize it. So the children die because their mothers and fathers had no power in the market and no voice in the system.

But you and I have both. We can make market forces work better for the poor if we can develop a more creative capitalism.

If we can stretch the reach of market forces so that more people can make a profit or at least earn a living, serving people who are suffering from the great inequities.”

NEVER EVER GIVE UP! ALWAYS HOPE FOR THE BEST, WHO KNOWS ? THAT AN AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY IS WAITING FOR THEM !.

“It’s fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.

“it’s Personal”

!!

!!!

!!

!!!

!!

!!

As I reflect back on the 40+ years since the founding of Joni and Friends, I am astounded at what God has done. I was 29 years old when God gave me the vision for this ministry – I was only a young adult, but I clearly recalled my hospital-days when I witnessed so much hopelessness from fellow-quadriplegics and others with disabilities.

Also when I was 29, I had traveled to a developing nation where I saw firsthand the desperate plight of disabled people who felt abandoned and forgotten by the world. But I knew in my heart that they were not abandoned by God. God showed me that when he rescued me from depression. No, God has never forgotten even one hurting person – I know that promise from Luke 12:6-7.

As I reflect back on the forty years since the founding of Joni and Friends, I am astounded at what God has done…

So you see, the work of Joni and Friends is highly personal. And this video above tells that story. Well, I should clarify… it tells my story. It shows why the work of Joni and Friends is deep-down personal to me. It’s why every day I am reminded that our outreach is personal to so many of my co-laborers. And I bet it might just be the same for you.

So take a minute to watch this short video, and then share it!
